Goats are suffering behind the scenes at a farm in Oregon that supplies products for “Happy Goat Cheese.” Despite the cheerful branding, a new undercover investigation by PETA has exposed horrifying conditions for the animals.

According to the footage and findings, goats were found emaciated, injured, and suffering from painful conditions without veterinary care. Dead baby goats were left on the property. Others were seen limping, collapsing, and crying out in distress. This is not the image that consumers associate with “happy” or “humane” products — but it is the reality for animals on this farm.

These goats are intelligent, gentle animals who deserve better. No living being should be forced to endure prolonged pain and neglect for the sake of cheese production or corporate profits.

We are calling on the Oregon Department of Agriculture and state lawmakers to take urgent action. This must include:

• A full investigation into animal cruelty at the farm
• Stronger welfare standards for all commercial goat and dairy farms in the state
• A ban on misleading labels like “happy” or “humane” unless independently verified
• Regular inspections and accountability for facilities that profit from animal-based products
