That’s why we’re calling on Florida lawmakers to pass legislation requiring emergency animal welfare checks whenever residents are reported missing or homes are found abandoned for long periods of time.

These seven pets suffered in silence. A simple wellness check could have saved them.

We already have systems to report child endangerment and welfare checks for vulnerable adults. We must extend similar compassion and vigilance to animals who rely on us for survival.

This law would empower law enforcement, animal control, and concerned neighbors to act before neglect turns into death. It’s a commonsense step to prevent future tragedies.
