Yesterday I went to the Calhoun Police Department to pick up the arrest records regarding Destiny's case.

In the report I learned things that I didn't know before. This made me angry, sick to my stomach and so upset.

The veterinarian who examined Destiny, stated she had signs of small pebbles/rocks throughout her otherwise empty GI tract, indicative of scrounging for food.

She also stated, her emaciated frame (BCS 1.5/9) showed every bone in her body. For those that don't know BCS means body condition scale with 9 being the highest.

I've also learned that her abuser had 31 prior arrests, with charges ranging from Burglary, Battery, Escape, trafficking and several DUIs.

Seemed like he was making up a million and one excuses, trying to put the blame on Jeff and I for her passing away. He was asked by the detective why couldn't he ask someone living at the house to take Destiny to be seen  by a vet. The detective told him that one week after Destiny was taken, aside from her tumor she looked brand new and healthy. That POS response was that a week later, the people who took Destiny had to put her down. The Detective let him know that it was more like a month later.

Little did he know what the heck we went through for three weeks to take care of her, and to try and save her life.

One thing I am happy about, is all the pictures I took of Destiny. It was those pictures that were presented into evidence that helped make this arrest possible.

Please help us keep people like this POS behind bars longer and give them heftier fines. We all see so many animal abuse & cruelty cases everyday. Things need to change!
