Stop allowing absent parents to have Parental Responsibility "rights"

Stop allowing absent parents to have Parental Responsibility "rights"
The Issue
At the moment in the UK, parents who were either married or are named on the birth certificate and have been absent from their children's lives for a long period of time have the same rights of Parental Responsibility as the resident parent.
There are far too many families in the UK being stopped from certain things like holidays, school choice, changes in doctors, dentist etc, all due to an absent parent having the 'right' to refuse. And they also have a right to apply for contact through court, even after years of absence with no evidence of them attempting contact in that time. Even for children who have never known them or known of them, so they are basically being forced to go with a stranger after us parents teaching them all about the 'stranger danger'!
Let's make this change!
Parents who are absent for a period of longer than one year should not have the right to decide what is wrong or right for a child they do not know and have not cared for. At the moment the court have this law in place due to Fathers who repeatedly attempt to see their children but Mothers not allowing them to.
With this change, I would like to amend this Law to make sure the absent parent would need to prove that they have attempted contact over the years. Only then, with this proof, would the current law be valid and allow absent parents to have Parental Responsibility.
Anyone over the year of absence without solid evidence of attempting contact through text, email or letter should not be given any right of Parental Responsibility.
Please share to enable us to get as many people on board as possible. I plan to take this to the media, we may need stories too if it goes public so please comment if you would be interested in giving your story.
Thanks for being involved, lets protect our children and make a change to this horrible law!
