Alberta University of the Arts has stated that as of September 2025 the school will introduce  a “Generative AI Professional Certificate” program.

We are Angry. The Students are angry. We will not stand to watch our tuition money fund a program that actively encourages the theft of art. By accepting AI art as an art form Alberta university of the Arts is actively betraying its students as well as everything that art stands for. ART IS HUMAN. 

This program is a completely inappropriate and needs to stop. AI actively steals from artists. AI steals from the very people keeping this school alive. By introducing this program Alberta University of the arts is actively betraying: ethics, the students, the faculty and any alumni. 

Please sign this petition to END the AI ART PROGRAM.
