What we see in ChatGPT and other AI systems today may feel like a small glimpse of what is being developed behind the scenes. AI continues to become more powerful and more capable, and we should not blindly race forward simply because we can.

We need boundaries. We need accountability. And we need to slow down.

Our leaders and institutions should be putting more attention and resources toward the problems that are directly affecting everyday Americans:

⚡ Rising power bills
🛒 The cost of groceries
🏠 Unaffordable mortgages and housing
🚗 The increasing cost of buying and maintaining a vehicle/gas
💰 Families struggling to simply make ends meet

People are working harder and paying more just to live, while enormous amounts of money and resources are being poured into developing increasingly powerful AI technology.

We are asking our leaders to put PEOPLE before technology.

We are calling for a serious pause and public discussion about the continued development and deployment of increasingly powerful AI systems. Before we build something that may become difficult to control, we need to fully understand the risks, establish meaningful safeguards, and decide as a society where the line should be drawn.

Technology should serve humanity—not replace it, control it, or become more important than the people it was created to serve.

It is time to slow down.
It is time to ask questions.
It is time to put families first.
And it is time for our leaders to listen.
