Stop Age Fraud in Uttar Pradesh Cricket – Protect Honest Talent

Stop Age Fraud in Uttar Pradesh Cricket – Protect Honest Talent
The Issue
To:
UPCA Director, CEO, and CAL Secretary
Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA)
From
Concerned Coaches, Parents, and Cricket's well wisher
We call upon the UPCA to take urgent and decisive action against the growing menace of age fraud in Uttar Pradesh cricket. Manipulated birth records and falsified documents are undermining fair play, denying genuine talent a fair chance, and tarnishing the integrity of the sport.
The Problem
Age fraud is eroding the credibility of grassroots and district-level cricket in the state. Players are routinely misrepresenting their age — particularly in U-14, U-16, and U-19 tournaments — gaining unfair advantage and blocking the path of honest, hardworking youngsters.
Despite UPCA’s access to multiple forms of identity verification:
Aadhar Card (with update history)
Municipal Birth Certificates
School Enrollment & Registration Records
UPCA Club Registration & Tournament Data
Medical Assessments (Bone Density, Dental Age Tests)
…the verification process remains vulnerable and inconsistent. Instances of 18–20-year-olds participating in U-14 or U-16 matches are not just unfair — they are dangerous for younger players and deeply discouraging for genuine contenders.
■ Voices from the Ground
“In cricket, your talent should speak — not your fake documents.”
— A District-Level Coach
“Every fake birth certificate is a stolen dream for someone else.”
— Anonymous Cricketer
“You can lie on paper, but your body and ethics don’t lie on the field.”
— Senior Selector
♤■● We Urge UPCA to Implement
■ 1. Mandatory Cross-Verification of Documents
Cross-check Aadhar history, school records, and municipal birth certificates for consistency.
2. Digital Audit of Clubs & Player Data
Maintain a transparent, digital record of player registrations and club affiliations, linked to tournament participation history.
3. Random Medical Age Testing
Introduce periodic, random medical verification (MRI/Bone Tests) for top performers and flagged players.
4. Secure Whistleblower Mechanism
Set up a confidential reporting channel for coaches, parents, and players to report suspected cases of age fraud.
5. Lifetime Ban for Repeat Offenders
Enforce strict penalties on players, coaches, or clubs found guilty of repeated age manipulation.
● Why It Matters
This fight is bigger than cricket — it’s about fairness, integrity, and the future of sport in Uttar Pradesh. When fraud goes unchecked, honest talent is silenced, trust in the system collapses, and the game loses its soul.Uttar Pradesh has the talent. But without transparency and accountability, we cannot produce true champions.
Our Demand
We, the undersigned, urge the UPCA to immediately strengthen its age verification protocols and enforce strict penalties to eliminate age fraud at every level. Let’s protect honest players and ensure that only merit — not manipulation — decides a cricketer’s future
