John Schumann concert tomorrow Saturday, and our excellent rally
The March for your Park Lands rally on Sunday was a huge success and attracted, according to a head count from the front of the rally on information just in, up to fifteen thousand supporters. Thank you. Even the single image above which shows John Schumann addressing the crowd much disproves the government’s pretty desperate attempt to suggest a very much lower figure!

Very generously, part proceeds will go to the Park Lands Association for our campaign.
Save Festival Plaza’s fight to prevent the ATO moving into Tower 2 continues, and will continue in the federal parliament where ultimately it needs to be approved.
We encourage you to write to or call your Federal Member, as below, to tell them that the Tax Office should not be getting involved as an anchor tenant in Walker Tower 2. This is a project where the best interests of the city have so clearly been ignored. The ATO should not be enabling this travesty.
You might indicate that their position on the ATO's proposed Tower 2 presence and on the two other National Heritage Park Lands abuses might determine your vote.
The building moves on despite not having full planning approval, or a publicly declared anchor tenant apart from the ATO whose $73.4m fit out awaits Federal Government clearance through its Public Works Committee. The cavalier governance of this project continues.

It seems that the government’s fallback position is for state government agencies to largely fill the building, along with government offices, at a probable cost in tens of millions to the state’s budget given the premium rates that apply. And no doubt a gaggle of lobbyists and smaller companies eager to ingratiate themselves with the Premier will line up to move in.
