Good day all,
Thank you to those who have donated. With one week to go we are almost halfway to our fundraising goal, with $2130 raised out of a slightly adjusted goal of $5500.
And we have had our first four-figure donation of this Move It Mali campaign!
This is a campaign to retain Adelaide's dignity. A plaza project of nearly $2 billion that unbelievably, started without even open tender, has leased the land for a dollar a year and is finishing with the premier - it would seem - installed in the tower, enjoying truly luxurious views - - in complete defiance of what was planned for the city. This is government run amok.
It would deliver egregious harm to the city- harm without any useful purpose or rationale - we would counter the premier's nimbyism charge with one of cowboy-ism.
It will expose Adelaide to ridicule as a city that was at or near the head of the pack in attractiveness- with the sort of economic multiplier effects that that should provide, but has inexplicably been let down by its coach- the premier.
Let's see how long we can sustain this please- it gives us a public voice in locations where power-brokers should see it. Note that we ran an earlier billboard on North East Rd at a generous rate offered by one of our supporters.
Again a special thank you if you've made a three figure donation, or perhaps regular smaller ones.
And if you are up to being a major benefactor we would love you for it!
We have until Friday (24th April) to raise the money for a subsequent two week prominent site billboard, but will defer it if necessary.
Our brand new bank account.

We will attempt to acknowledge deposits by email the next day.
Please note that the Adelaide Park Lands Association AGM is tomorrow morning Sunday 19th April at 9.15am at Unley Town Hall, with our supporter, the redoubtable Senator Barbara Pocock as guest speaker (and the tower would sit on Colonel Light's original Park Lands of course).
Again thank you for your support. The premier should not be allowed to think he might comfortably install himself in this commercial tower on land that he's effectively gifted away for $1 a year, for a hundred year lease, whilst the city loses its plaza, and puts its parliament in deep shade, amongst other seriously negative outcomes. It should be about the city and its needs, not about him.
Robert, for the Alliance
