Stop Aberdeenshire council closing OOSC settings before affordable alternatives in place

Stop Aberdeenshire council closing OOSC settings before affordable alternatives in place
The Issue
Aberdeenshire council voted on 1st February 2024 to close all 8 OOSC settings as of 6th July 2024 with no public consultation. They only put this forward to the education committee rather than the full council and therefore was not brought to the publics attention until the decision had been made. They did not follow due diligence or process for getting this motion passed.
We, as parents, want to ensure an affordable, fit for purpose alternative is put in place at each setting (Banchory, Balmedie, Ellon, Inverbervie, Mintlaw, Westhill, Pitmedden and Portlethen). This should be wrap around care rather than extra curricular activities as suggested by the council. This has an impact on breakfast, Afterschool and holiday clubs currently provided by Aberdeenshire Council.
Please note: Aberdeenshire council will only accept signatures from Aberdeenshire residents only!
