The Stonnington Council is potentially planning to demolish the existing skatepark, which has been there since 1987. One of the oldest skateparks in Melbourne and without a doubt the one with the most history and character. Prahran is one of the only skateparks in Melbourne that has such strong local ties, it really is FOR the community. This “redevelopment” is not in the best interest of the locals who use it every day as a creative outlet, but rather suits the proposed extension of the Prahran Aquatic Centre. Rather, I propose an extension to the existing park, to accomodate for whatever the demolition is proposing to accomplish.
