As Turkish Cypriots we are shocked and dismayed that the National Flag of the Turkish Republic of North Cyprus has been banned from the arena at this years Eurovision Song Contest. We see this as unjust and racist. We do not deserve to be treated or shown to be in the same dimension as the ISIS flag which is also banned. We are not terrorists. The Turkish Republic of North Cyprus exists and we refuse to be treated as the forgotten people. Europe is made up of diverse and cosmopolitan countries and cities. We demand that our National Flag be permitted to be held or waved during the Eurovision Song Contest. Any other decision is totally unjust, unfair and we will do our utmost to protect our identity as Turkish Cypriots. The world needs to know WE EXIST. Cyprus is not all Greek. Turkish Cypriots have been living there for centuries.
