Just 1.4% of CBILS applications have been successful

The government has been listening and UK Treasury is expected to unveil further measures to help start-up businesses over the coming days.

But now is not the time to lose momentum - the Business Secretary has informed that only 4,200 of the estimated 300,000 firms that sought help from the government's Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS) have in fact received rescue loans.

We've seen how the US rescue fund has already been depleted, so we must do all that we can to mobilise private investment capital - the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) is a proven mechanism to do so;

Please, therefore, continue to share this petition widely, which seeks for the government to maximise the use of small business support via EIS.
