800,000 - 1 million small-medium businesses could fail

Loans are simply not enough -

The BBC has reported today that between 800,000 and a million SMEs may soon have to close;

Business groups are reporting that 20% of businesses could fail.

Even those businesses that do qualify for CBILS are struggling to get through to their banks - those that can are being presented with interest rates on loans of up to 33%

The Business Secretary is critical of lenders, the London Mayor says banks need to step-up, the Chancellor wants other sources of funding.

Failure is inevitable unless alternative funding is made available - this petition is for that alternative source of funding to be stimulated from a mechanism the government already has in place - the Enterprise Investment Scheme;
