As an Ontario high school student myself, I have felt first hand the effects of the lack of knowledge and education around consent. Many young Ontarians will be affected by sexual violence in their lifetime, and it is our educator’s job to be teaching us the importance, of consent. No means no is not enough. We deserve more because we are the ones paying the price for the education system’s failings. This change for students would mean an awareness of consent, and therefore a decrease in sexual assault. It would mean no longer allowing youth to continue being desensitized to things that should alarm us because we grew up in an era, where everything and everyone is sexualized. It is time for a change, and we need to be that change. Please sign this petition, if you want to end sexual assault in your province.
