The future of our children and of the state itself rests on developing every student’s mind, skills, and talent. Given the dire state of affairs in Illinois – the failing school report cards, the number of high school drop-outs, and the violent crime among teens – there is, as Dr. Martin Luther King coined it, “a fierce urgency of now.”  Public education is an issue that affects us all.

I am signing this petition because:

  - I live in the suburbs.

  - I vote.

  - I am educating myself on policy solutions, using UnitedWeLearnIL.org and other
    resources.

  - I care about the education of ALL children in Illinois.
