The issue

At this rate we will lose all of these native (eg karri, marri and jarrah) forests within the next 90 years, this is within my lifetime and my kids' and is devastating that the next generations wont be able to see the beauty of our bush lands that belong ONLY here in the whole world. I want to reduce or stop the government deforestation of these areas as we are already a global hotspot for biodiversity, which means we are a region which is highly threatened globally due to human habitation. This business industry has no up sides, there are not many jobs, they can't sell a tree for more than it costs to cut it down. The use for the wood is poor, for Jarrah trees only 15% is used for timber (useful) overseas, 15% is for mill waste, 40% is for charcoal and 30% is for firewood, for Karri trees only 15% is used for timber and the other 85% is used for woodchips. This is decreasing biodiversity for the animals that have their home taken away or the trees and bush which are cut down and not replaced, if they are, it is with one species which doesn't help. This is also contributing to global warming and climate change as it is putting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere and taking away the source that takes it in and produces us with oxygen at an unhealthy rate, 10 football fields of trees are deforested per DAY. These trees take hundreds of years to regrow and there is no plan being put in place to sustain them. This effects all of us especially the younger and future generations. If we are able to stop this it can lead other places to do the same and set an example, and contributes to decreasing global warming. We need a more efficient plan and the one the government has is NOT sustainable. Check out Cry of The Forests movie/documentary trailer to find out more and look into the facts.
