Start taking production of third theatrical Sesame Street movie seriously!
The Issue
The third theatrical Sesame Street movie has been in production since 2012. It has faced countless delays and according to sources will be released in 2025. The problem? It could very easily be delayed again. There have been multiple official dates for release and starting production and filming. Warner Bros. and Sesame Workshop need to make this movie a priority.
Plot (from IMDB): Big Bird and friends are expelled from Sesame Street, ending up in Manhattan. They join a TV host trying to prove Sesame Street exists, facing opposition from the Mayor who wants to keep it hidden.
I understand that both Follow that Bird and The Adventures of Elmo in Grouchland were both major box office bombs, but this movie hasn't been officially cancelled to begin with and maybe it could be a streaming release so toddlers could watch it as parents are less likely to take them to the cinemas. And Sesame Street is still going strong with no sign of stopping, with the main TV show and various other shows and specials.
Or even better, it could be released on streaming and in theaters simultaneously. The toddlers (and others) watch it at home but there'll still be extra revenue from movie goers.
Tango is Elmo's pet and Slimey is Oscar's so they have to be there and so does Rudy, Snuffy, Alice, Gonger, Honker (purple), Dinger (green) Yip Yips, The Countess and Julia for their respective reasons alongside Unnamed Letter of the Day because he is in the iconic Letter of the Day segment but isn't recognized and doesn't even have a name. It'd be fun if it had some other retired characters (Don Music, Benny Rabbit, Lefty the Salesman, Little Bird, Herry, Grundgetta, Countess Dahling Von Dahling, Simon Soundman etc.), but not too many it gets crowded.
P.S. For those of you who don't sign petitions because "they're useless and nobody signs them", that's a circular logic. If everybody sees a petition and likes whatever is being advocated for but doesn't sign it because they think it's pointless, and then they say "see it's useless, no one else signed it", that's because everyone who saw it thought that. And had all those people thought and done otherwise, then the supporters would already be more by probably a good amount.
