District School Start Time Committee to Meet

The Arlington ISD School Start Time committee will hold its second and probably final meeting on December 2. The four subcommittees (instruction, operations, extra-curriculars, and parent & community engagement) all met once, except extra-curriculars, which met twice. Each subcommittee will report a list of pros and cons of the current bell schedule as it relates to their area to the entire committee on Dec. 2. The committee will not come to a consensus nor make any recommendations to the school district. The opening of two new elementary academies next fall, may require the district to alter some bell schedules. I anticipate an administrative presentation to the school board at its December 11 or January 15 meeting. Please mark those dates on your calendar.
