Dr. Matthew Walker's new book, Why We Sleep, is getting a lot of attention. Walker, a neuroscientist at the University of California, Berkeley, explains how the brain relies on deep sleep to clean away the daily build up of toxins in the brain. He has produced several short videos to explain the process and the consequences of sleep deprivation. As you watch the video, think of the health consequences school districts with start times in the 7 o'clock hour, are imposing on adolescents daily.
