Please sign and share: Standing wheelchairs to be promoted and provided for disabled
The Issue
- Government Why sitting down is bad for us
- The science of why mobility compromised need standing wheelchairs
Photos of me and my standing wheelchair
Please sign this petition. It is free, not crowd funding. It is well documented that sitting down for prolonged periods of time is bad for us. So why do we insist disabled people sit instead of having the flexibility of a standing, sitting and reclining wheelchair? The cognitive and physical damage from prolonged sedatory periods of time needs to be reiterated and wheelchairs that only perform a seated position bought into question.
Please sign this petition to support those with mobility issues.
Do you feel that disabled people need to be better enabled? Do you have mobility issues? What are your frustrations? Do you know what a standing wheelchair is?
Could it be argued standard wheelchairs create more health issues than they fix?
One size does not fit all. At present standing wheelchairs are not available to those with mobility issues on the NHS.
I had to clear out my savings and buy one privately. This petition is to encourage a mass roll out on the NHS of Standing Wheelchairs.
Standing wheelchairs include sit, recline and standing functions as standard. They also provide for an optional built-in commode facility.
Whether partially or dealing with crippling paralysis, you can move around at eye level on a standing wheelchair, avoid additional issues from being sat all day and, who knows, even rehabilitate.
The health of disabled people is at stake. Standing can provide a whole host of everyday health benefits; improving circulation and digestion, prevention of bladder problems, along with helping bone development and pressure management.
It can improve and maintain many aspects of your personal wellbeing, while giving you vital posture management and comfort. Through expert design & development wheelchairs and standing frames are extremely compact and manoeuvrable. The focus should always to design products to suit your normal everyday environment.

Now is the time to act.One size for all creates additional health issues and long term costs the NHS more money. Thoughts? Now is the time to act as disabled have been neglected over the Pandemic and need every help possible.
