In Tremont, Pennsylvania — a town of just 2,000 residents — the federal government plans to convert a warehouse into a massive ICE detention center holding up to 7,500 detainees.

That’s nearly four times the town’s population.

Residents say they were not consulted before the purchase. The town already lacks a hospital, has no independent police force, and struggles with limited water and sewage capacity.

Local leaders are raising serious concerns:

Why were communities left out of the decision?

Why weren't their protests taken into consideration?

How will the town handle water, healthcare, and waste?
Who pays for the infrastructure strain?
Even in this deep-red area, a majority of residents are pushing back.

We call on:

Department of Homeland Security (DHS)
ICE leadership
to drop plans for the Tremont detention center and stop forcing large-scale facilities onto unprepared communities.
