Stand with the People of Iran: Bring the Killers to Justice

The Issue

Brave women, men, and even children in Iran have stood up to a brutal dictatorship. They are demanding basic human rights, an end to corruption, and a future free from fear and oppression. These protesters are completely unarmed. In Iran, for any ordinary citizen not connected to the government, merely possessing a weapon can mean execution. The people in the streets carry nothing but their voices, their phones, and their hope for a better future.

Instead of listening, the regime has responded with mass murder. Peaceful, unarmed protesters, including children and women, have been met with bullets, military-grade weapons, and shoot-to-kill orders. Security forces have deliberately targeted protesters with shots to the head, neck, and chest, a deliberate strategy to terrorize, not to disperse crowds.

The scale of the massacre is staggering. The number of casualties is so high that hospitals across the country have issued urgent calls for emergency blood donations. Independent sources report that thousands of people have been killed and tens of thousands have been arrested.

But the regime's cruelty does not end with the killing. Regime forces have attacked hospitals, arresting injured protesters from their beds. The government has confiscated the bodies of those killed, denying families the right to bury their own children. Families have been prevented from holding funerals. In a final act of cruelty, grieving parents have been forced to support false government narratives, coerced into publicly stating that their children died in accidents, committed suicide, or were killed by protesters, all to cover up the regime's mass murder.

Many detainees now face torture, unfair trials, and execution. Families report that their children have been sentenced to death and are scheduled to be executed just days after their arrest. This regime rules through fear, terror, and cruelty, using death as a tool to crush dissent.

To hide these crimes from the world, the regime has shut down the internet, forcing 85 million people into digital darkness. This is a deliberate act meant to stop Iranians from sharing their stories and to prevent the world from witnessing the truth.

We cannot allow this to happen. The silence must be broken. This is not a distant political issue. It is a human crisis.

We cannot be bystanders while innocent lives, including the lives of children, are being extinguished in the dark. We must show the people of Iran that they are not alone. We must show their oppressors that the world is watching and will hold them accountable.

Our Demands

We, the undersigned global citizens, demand that world leaders take immediate and decisive action:

  1. Recognize These Atrocities as Crimes Against Humanity and Demand an Immediate End
Publicly and unequivocally recognize the Iranian regime's mass murder of unarmed civilians as crimes against humanity under international law. Strongly condemn the use of lethal force against peaceful protesters and use all available diplomatic and legal means to demand an immediate end to the killings and violence.

  2. Break the Digital Siege
Take concrete action to help restore internet access to the people of Iran. Support and deploy technologies that can circumvent the regime's censorship and allow information to flow freely.

  3. Sanction the Abusers
Impose and enforce coordinated, targeted sanctions on the key officials and institutions responsible for these atrocities. This includes the Supreme Leader, high- and mid-level IRGC commanders, prison officials, and judiciary members who are ordering the killing, torture, and executions of unarmed protesters.

  4. Pursue International Justice
Take immediate steps to hold the perpetrators of these crimes accountable under international law. This includes referring the situation in Iran to the International Criminal Court (ICC), initiating cases under the principle of universal jurisdiction, and ensuring that measures taken are appropriate to the scale and severity of the atrocities being committed. The world must send a clear message: those who commit crimes against humanity will face justice.

  5. Isolate the Regime, Not the People
Downgrade diplomatic ties with the Iranian regime while increasing support for Iranian civil society, human rights defenders, and independent journalists. Help the people, not their oppressors.

Do not let the courage of the Iranian people be met with the world's indifference.

These are unarmed mothers, fathers, students, and children standing up against a regime that answers their calls for freedom with bullets. They cannot defend themselves. They need the world to speak for them.

Add your name to this petition and demand that our leaders stand on the right side of history. Let the people of Iran hear our voices. Let them know we stand with them in their fight for life, liberty, and a future free from fear.
