Stand with Officers: Demand a Memorial for the Heroes Who Defended the Capitol on Jan 6
The Issue
On January 6, 2021, our democracy was attacked.
It was not a “peaceful protest.” It was a violent insurrection that left over 100 law enforcement officers injured, traumatized, and in some cases, fighting for their lives. Lives were lost.
Yet years later, Congress has failed to follow its own law and install a memorial to honor the brave officers who risked everything to defend the U.S. Capitol that day. Officers Daniel Hodges and Harry Dunn, two of the heroes who stood in the breach, are now being forced to sue Congress to make that memorial a reality.
Why? Because Speaker Mike Johnson and others in power refuse to act, choosing instead to bow to a political narrative that seeks to rewrite history and erase the truth.
This is unacceptable.
These officers held the line against hate, chaos, and a violent mob inspired by lies. Hodges was nearly crushed in a doorway while rioters tore away his protective gear. Dunn, a Black officer, endured racial slurs while protecting the very institution that now denies his sacrifice.
Congress passed the law. The plaque was supposed to be installed years ago. The delay is not bureaucracy. It is cowardice.
We stand with Officers Hodges and Dunn. We demand the immediate installation of the January 6 memorial plaque on the U.S. Capitol.
No more silence. No more delay. No more erasure.
Let history remember the truth, and the heroes who defended it.
Sign now to honor their sacrifice and demand Congress follow the law.
