Stand for Constitutional Rights and the Rule of Law - A Citizen Call
The Issue
The United States Constitution protects the rights of every American and establishes the checks and balances that safeguard our democracy.
As a citizen, I created this petition out of sincere concern for preserving those principles and encouraging thoughtful civic engagement. I know many people feel uncertain or powerless right now.
My hope is that this petition offers a steady place to stand — a way for people to have their voices heard and to affirm that, together, our voices still matter.
This petition is one small but meaningful way citizens can participate in protecting those constitutional principles.
Our Constitution establishes checks and balances to ensure that no branch of government exceeds its authority and that the rule of law remains stronger than any individual officeholder.
Over the past year, several executive actions and court rulings have generated growing concern about constitutional rights, governmental accountability, and the proper balance of powers.
These developments have prompted renewed attention to the constitutional principles that uphold democratic goverance — particularly the separation of powers and the accountability of government institutions.
Documented Governance Developments (Reporting Period: January 20, 2025 – January 31, 2026)
1. Executive authority and independent agencies — Litigation and Supreme Court review concerning removal of federal labor board officials and limits on executive supervision of independent agencies.
2. Immigration enforcement and constitutional review — Federal court and Supreme Court proceedings concerning deportation policies, birthright citizenship, and limits on executive immigration authority.
3. First Amendment and workplace protections — Federal litigation challenging executive actions affecting speech protections, workplace rights, and anti-discrimination safeguards.
4. Use of emergency or expedited executive authority — Supreme Court rulings addressing the scope and limits of statutory emergency powers.
5. Federal funding and DEI-related policy changes — Judicial review of executive actions affecting teacher training grants and diversity-related federal programs.
This petition does not allege criminal wrongdoing. It calls for transparency, accountability, and continued constitutional review through established institutional channels.
We respectfully call upon:
• Congress — including its oversight and judiciary committees — to exercise its constitutional responsibilities
• Courts to continue independent constitutional review
• Public officials to reaffirm commitment to separation of powers and the rule of law
• Citizens to remain informed and engaged in democratic processes
The Constitution does not protect itself — it relies on engaged institutions and engaged citizens to uphold it.
Meaningful change begins when citizens stand together and make their voices heard.
If you believe constitutional rights and the rule of law must be preserved, please add your name to this petition and consider sharing it with others.
