We, the undersigned parents, students, community members, and colleagues, of Carson High School, respectfully submit this petition in support of reinstating Coach Frank Saldana, whose recent termination has raised serious concern and confusion within our school community.
Coach Frank has dedicated decades of unwavering service to Carson High School, consistently demonstrating integrity, leadership, and a deep commitment to student development. His invaluable contributions extend far beyond coaching as he has been a pillar of the community through decades of volunteerism. Most notably, in 2025, Coach Frank led the girls flag football program to a CIF Championship, making history for our school and elevating opportunities for female student-athletes. This achievement reflects not only his coaching ability but also his dedication to equity, mentorship, and excellence. Coach Frank was also the CIFLA recipient for “Coach of the Year” in December of 2025; and The Daily Breeze recipient  for “Coach of the Year” on November 21st, 2025.
The illogical decision to terminate Coach Frank without clear explanation left many in our community disheartened and questioning the fairness and transparency of this action, which is why we are also submitting this to the Office of Data and Accountability (ODA) within LAUSD. We believe such a decision does not reflect the values of our school or district and has the potential for negative impacts to our students.

Therefore, we respectfully request the following:

1. The immediate reconsideration and reinstatement of Coach Frank Saldana, as the Girls Varsity Flag Football - Head Coach.
2. A clear and transparent explanation regarding the circumstances surrounding his verbal dismissal.
3. A reaffirmation of the district’s commitment to fairness, due process, and respect for those who have served our community with such distinction.

Coach Frank has earned the respect, trust, and admiration of this community, even being honored by the City of Carson as, “Homegrown Hero” during their 55th anniversary. We stand united in our belief that his removal is not only unjust but a significant loss to our students and school culture. Coach Frank represents the ideal role model that every school would hope its students aspire to emulate, and he has shaped and inspired generations of students throughout his tenure.
We urge you to act swiftly and thoughtfully in addressing this matter.
