It’s that time again, the Northern Summer Ban has come to an end, this means our Aussie sheep are back on the ships of savagery, bound for a brutal slaughter in a foreign country while the cattle don’t get a reprieve, ludicrous isn’t it.

Last Saturday 10 of us turned up at Town Hall to raise awareness for Live Exported animals. The day went extremely well. There were 4 other large protests at Town Hall on Saturday, so we decided to go across the road, and at 1:45, we marched up to Hyde Park, this worked so well, it really got the public’s attention. people were stopping to look, some started videoing, others were clapping, taking photos and having a good look at the banners. I think in future this will be the way we end the Awareness Day.

I hate to say this but Canberra is not happening this year. I understand people can’t afford to take time off work or can’t do it because the bus trip is too long, but I don’t see the point 9n spending $2-$3 thousand for maybe 8 people. I had 12 people say yes, then 3 of those said they couldn’t make it, so I asked for a deposit that I would refund on the day and only 2 people paid their deposit.

So I figure I’d cancel it for this year, then depending when Anthony Albanese announces the election date we can possibly head to Canberra prior to the election. I am so sorry to let people down but I’m sure most would understand.

I will be holding another Sydney Protest/Awareness Day on November 23rd but I’ll post more on this as it gets closer.
