Mise à jour sur la pétitionStand Against ALL Live Animal Exports!Canberra Cancelled

Please accept my deepest apologies, I have decided to cancel the Canberra Parliament House protest.

Even with me paying the full amount $2,000 - $3,000 for the bus, I have 13 people catching the bus to Canberra.
I thought if I paid the complete cost of the bus, at least 30 people would go, but many people cannot afford to take time off work, while others don’t feel they can sit on a bus to Canberra and back in one day.

I feel 40 is the absolute minimum number of people we would need to make it totally worthwhile.

At Parliament House, Canberra: where we are allowed to protest, it is 180 metres from the entrance of Parliament House, it is so far away. I knew going to Parliament House itself was a bit of a waste but I thought protesting at the 2 entrances to the lodge may have helped, but again, unless we have a lot of people, it’s somewhat pointless.

I have seen protests with thousands of people at Canberra Parliament House and they barely get attention, so with 20-30 people it’s a waste of time and money.
I really am so sorry but I want to do something that makes a difference.
My other concern is people will say they’re going but because they’re not paying they have nothing to lose if they couldn’t be bothered, they just won’t turn up.
After speaking to a few people who went last time to Canberra they think we could do better things.
Also instead of going to Canberra, we could try again for a protest outside the NSW Parliament House maybe the 21st of November when both sides are present in the chambers. BUT this time I would go ahead regardless of whether an MP was coming out to greet us or not. I would still need to know how many people are definitely going.

Hopefully I will have some terrific news for Stand Against Live Animal Exports and its supporters soon, maybe in the next update I can let everyone know what’s happening.

For those who don’t know, Australia has a new Agriculture Minister, her name is Julie Collin’s and she is against Live Animal Export, such great news.

It would be lovely if all supporters could email Julie and welcome her to the job and ask her to convince Anthony Albanese that promising to end ALL Live Animal Export would almost guarantee Labor a win come election time.

Julie’s email address is - julie.collins.mp@aph.gov.au

REMEMBER - PLEASE do NOT donate on here, the donations on here do NOT go to Stand Against Live Animal Exports.

If you wish to donate, PLEASE email me at sunlily36@gmail.com or text me at 0435 798 270.

I have NOT given up and I won’t give up, I have been trying to work out other ways to make an impact. But I am so sorry if anyone feels I have let them down. Lisa
