I’d just like to make mention that when I organise a Protest/Awareness Day, I do contact other animal welfare groups and ask them to advertise the event, after all we want the same thing, don’t we??
I get around 30 emails every time asking why I don’t “work” with other groups and it is tiring replying to same question over and over again, I cannot force anyone or any group to advertise these events, that’s why I ask YOU all to share the event details within your community and beyond.
I am starting to receive emails that make me wonder what I’m trying to achieve, am I suppose to make the supporters happy or is this about trying to end Live Animal Export?
I am getting emails like......‘that day/time/location doesn’t suit me’ or why did you choose Orange, I hate Orange” - “ why did you put that picture on the stickers?, “the flyers could have been done better”, “Fed Square is not a good place”, “why are you having speakers? Just being present makes a bigger impact”
I cannot please everyone - If we educate even 1 person that day, that’s at least 1 more person who now knows about Live Animal Exports.
I’m only one person running this entire “organisation”, I don’t have endless donations, people at my disposal to help me, I cannot afford to pay anyone...it is ALL volunteer and to those 7 people who turn up in Sydney relentlessly- I sincerely cannot thank you enough....x
I do this work for the ANIMALS, I am not doing this for me or for any other reason - it kills me every day knowing that those beautiful animals are shipped in such horrendous conditions to an excruciating death.. I don’t know why but the images are like a reel that keep running through my mind....every day without fail, I think of and feel their fear, stress and horror - the horror Live Animal Export inflicts on those cows, sheep and other animals..
So PLEASE remember I’m human and I’m trying to do my best for the animals. It is easy to turn up to a rally, hold a banner, hand out a few flyers, then go home, I wish I could.
‘But seeing the numbers in the petition grow; the emails I receive stating “before seeing us at Town Hall they never knew about Live Animal Exports”and the new members on the Orange Ribbon -Stand Against Live Animal Exports FB page and also the Stop The Death Ships FB page - I know without a doubt we are doing something right and we will continue to do so until they end this abomination on animals entirely.
