On 11 June, the Government announced a funding pot of £63 million for local authorities to assist those struggling to afford food and other essentials. Even though Free School Meal support will now continue to be available during the school summer holidays for eligible families, we believe that many more families will need support with food and other essentials, as jobs and income are lost. We, the undersigned, call upon Staffordshire County Council to pass on the funding it receives to community response organisations, like Burntwood Be A Friend, to ensure that NO child in our town or elsewhere in Staffordshire will suffer from Holiday Hunger.
