Redevelopment of the Rite Aid building at 3836 Castro Valley Blvd. would bring an end to the blighted state of the property, bring another grocery shopping alternative, Sprouts, to area residents, and bring jobs to Castro Valley. The project is in serious jeopardy of being terminated due to an appeal filed under CEQA(California Environmental Quality Act) by a UFCW5(United Food & Commercial Workers Union) member, Cassandra Hunter. (Sprouts is a non-union grocery.)

We, the undersigned,  are concerned citizens who are asking that you not give in to bullying and that you not give up on Castro Valley.   Please move forward with this project even if it requires more negotiation between the two of you and Rite-Aid.  Kin Properties, instead of a blighted property, you will have a thriving property that you can point to with pride, commensurate with the rest of your holdings and you will have taken a stand on an important issue. Sprouts, we are confident that ultimately a store on this site will be more than worth the costs and time associated with the appeal. We hope that you will decide to take a stand NOW and in Castro Valley. Castro Valley wants you and we stand with you.
