End cultural-appropriation at Kickapoo High School

Established in 1971, Kickapoo High School is a public high school located in Springfield, Missouri. The school is known for their academic and athletic accomplishments. However, the school is also known for their usage of cultural-appropriation with prime examples of the “chief” as a mascot and students wearing a “headdress” for “school spirit”. This has been normalized for years and as students, we have had enough of this. The student body is predominantly white and any concern of cultural-appropriation has been ignored by administrators. Sign our petition to show support and to show the school board and administrators of Kickapoo High School that we have had enough.
