Reintroduce genders to "Pokémon MD: Gates to Infinity" through DLC

Reintroduce genders to "Pokémon MD: Gates to Infinity" through DLC
The Issue
"You're the hero - and you're a Pokémon!"
Released in North America on the 24th of March, 2013, Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Gates to Infinity is the ninth entry in the Pokémon Mysetry Dungeon series and the first Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game to appear on the Nintendo 3DS. You are the hero - an adventurer in a roguelike dungeon crawler world inhabited only by Pokémon. A world with breathtaking visuals, addicting gameplay, a charming storyline, and an emotional soundtrack, Gates to Infinity draws you in immediately as you begin your adventure as the hero.
And there's our problem: Hero, not heroine. The option that has been available to players in every main Pokémon game since the release of Pokémon: Crystal Version in 2001 is no longer available. An option that has been incorporated in every single Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game thus far and even in the Japanese release of Gates to Infinity. You can no longer change the playable character or partner's gender.
We were given no warning and have been given no explanation as to why this is. So far we've made contact with Nintendo of America, who has been kind enough to let us know that they're getting our feedback and are passing the word on to other departments. Well, we want answers. We want action.
The 3DS is the first console in the DS line to allow downloadable content (expansions and modifications available to download) for its games. Take use of this feature, Nintendo, Spike Chunsoft, and/or The Pokémon Company! Correct your mistake!
Nintendo, Spike Chunsoft, The Pokémon Company: Please hear us!
