The Issue
As great fan of Aether Gazer, it is more than a little deflating to watch the global server permanently lag behind the Chinese server by over 7 months with no hope of version parity. All of us fellow Admins wish to be able to experience the same content at the same time in the future. With no fear of spoilers, and much more excitement over having all the great story content completely accessible, and as a bonus be able to experience surprise announcements that actually come directly to the live game soon after.
I am making a proposal and petition on behalf of the community so that the Global server can catch up to the Chinese server without sacrificing the original experience or lose resources from a faster schedule. Keeping in mind that by speeding up the patch cycles, we will not only align the versions together like the majority of modern Gacha games of today. But also revitalize the enthusiasm of players worldwide, not just the English speaking community either. Achieving this would mean Global players can delve into the brand new content, and also finally feel like we have a voice that is not stuck 7 months in the past when we give some input on the story. This way the overall fans opinions outside of China can be heard and organized more clearly as the content gets made as well.
On the other side, we would play the events simultaneously with our Chinese community counterparts, fostering a more unified international community experience that can understand what each other is playing as the content releases. Specially during heart-wrenching story chapters. There would be no better way to bond over Aether Gazer's story than with mutual tears of joy and sadness.
There is no doubt in our minds that it will require a great and extended effort, coordination, and resources from the multiple localization teams in charge of each language, as well as a willingness from Yongshi to invest and put some more focus and attention into the Global version. However the gains in community satisfaction, online social media engagement, and increased game revenue would far outstrip the difficulties of making it happen. Already we are seeing a drove of Japanese players on a social media like Twitter joining the game recently. But the downside is that the Japanese fans are fragmented and scattered. There's no doubt that the tide would be so much stronger if we were caught up.
In short, we are urging the developers of Aether Gazer to consider the strong desire from the global player base for version parity. Implementing a more rapid update schedule is the only way this can be theoretically achieved without sacrifices to our gaming experience.
Fellow Admins, I ask that you please sign this petition to have our voices heard and encourage Aether Gazer to put more priority in accelerating the patch cycles for the global version to slowly but surely one day have parity with the Chinese server.
I myself have gone out of my way to put the effort to compile and leave a detailed list of possible adjustments that Yongshi may take under consideration if they agree to this petition. This is to be thorough and leave no stone unturned, as well as save them some trouble in figuring our some of the complexities if they decide to do it. This way we can make sure the Global player-base can experience things the same way without making unnecessary sacrifices even if things move a little faster schedule wise.
