It has been a few weeks since the State Summer Games for Special Olympics Ohio came back to Columbus and the 2022 USA Games in Orlando. I am working on another petition "Reinstating Regional Bowling Tournaments for Special Olympics Ohio" and would appeciate your signatures as well on the petition because Special Olympics Ohio made too many mistakes like move the Swimming event to Bowling Green to create the State Indoor Winter Games with basketball and cheerleading; and the elimination of Regional Bowling Tournaments in favor of League Play that uprooted the fabric of the athletes, coaches, families, unified partners, and volunteers in making too many changes all at once instead of at a much slower pace gradually.
I even wrote new thinking as well is "Returning the State Swim Meet for Special Olympics Ohio back to Columbus, Ohio". I included returning the Long Course (50 meter) Swimming event back to the State Summer Games. My friend Rachel Travis from Cincinnati, who is of the best swimmers in Special Olympics had to do Track this year at the State Summer Games because the Long Course swimming event was discontinued to the changes that Special Olympics Ohio made in 2019. Some people who have done the sports like Long Course Swimming, Bowling, Roller Skating, etc. had to switch to other sports or quit/retire from Special Olympics entirely due to the changes that were in 2019.
The State Swim Meet in Columbus could be held in late March or ealy April (not to conflict with Passover and Easter) with the regional meets being held in early December, January, or February; or move it back to early December with the regional meets in October or November; not to conflict with Basketball or other sports going on in that moment.
I appreciate you sharing "Returning the State Swim Meet for Special Olympics Ohio back to Columbus, Ohio" and the current petition "Reinstating Regional Bowling Tournaments for Special Olympics Ohio". Thank you for your support and it shall be done.
