It is great to have the State Summer Games for Special Olympics Ohio back. I won the Gold medal in bowling with 172 with a double in the first game and 121 in the second game at the State Summer Games at AMF Sawmill Lanes in Columbus. Tent Town is now Olympic Village and among the missing things are the Free snowcones, popcorn, Ohio based Conn's Potato Chips, and Coca-Cola drinks along with lemonade and iced tea. I miss the Long Course Swimming events at the McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion and the Roller Skating. Very happy to watch Powerlifting with some lifting over 500 pounds. I am very happy that the State Summer Games for Special Olympics Ohio was back and people getting to see old friends with making new ones as well. I did write a letter to Jessica Stewart, CEO of Special Olympics Ohio; and seperate letters to Tim Shriver, Chairman of the Board and Mary Davis, CEO of Special Olympics along with letter I sent to Jessica about returning the State Swim Meet back to Columbus, reinstatement of Regional Bowling Tournaments and returning Figure (Ice) & Roller Skating to the Sports Offered for SOOH. I did suggest adding a Special Olympics Ohio Hall of Fame to celebrate contributions of athletes, coaches, volunteers, officials, and families; along adding the Open Water Swimming and Triathlon events with regional meets with the State Open Water Swimming/Triathlon Championships being contested at Lake Erie at Cedar Point in Sandusky. I did suggest moving the bowling from AMF Sawmill Lanes (52 lanes) to the Columbus Square Bowling Palace (64 lanes) to host the Individual, Team and Unified Bowling events at the State Summer Games. I did let Jessica on how changes affected everyone from athletes, coaches, volunteers, families, and more. I will let you know what Jessica and Tim says from my letter. Thank you so much for signing my petition on "Returning the State Swim Meet back to Columbus, Ohio" at its rightful home at The Ohio State University McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. Have a great 4th of July weekend and stay safe. Thank you so much. :)
