Owning a home is one of the most significant investments we make in our lifetime. For those who reside within the Pine Mountain community, this investment is under threat due to the recent mismanagement by our Pine Mountain Property Owners Association (PMPOA) Board of Directors.
Our current board has failed in their obligation to manage finances responsibly. They have not effectively pursued delinquent payments. They have now imposed a staggering 97% increase in our annual dues, a move that places stress on our household budgets and potentially devalues our property investments.
This increase highlights a lack of transparency and accountability. Such a large 97% increase should not come into effect, until serious collections are completed. It is time for us, as members of the PMPOA, to reclaim our stake in our community and ensure it is managed competently and with our best interests at heart.
Our current Board of five members consists of three (3) appointees - Not elected by the membership. Two of these appointees own nothing at Pine Mountain.
We call for the immediate removal of the current Board of Directors through a Special Meeting for the Members, as outlined in our PMPOA By-Laws ARTICLE XIII. Sections 2 and 3. The Board of Directors should set the earliest reasonable date, time and place for a Special Meeting. A new Interim board would be elected, to serve for one year. After one year, open elections should be scheduled. Candidates for the Interim board should be committed to transparency, financial prudence, and engaging with the community to make informed and fair decisions.
