My personal story begins with my decision to reside in Riverview Terrace, a condominium in Medicine Hat, AB, Canada. Little did I know that this choice would result in experiencing unacceptable management by its current board members. I am both concerned and frustrated with the well-being of the building, which we all call home.

I am not alone in this. Many residents have expressed their dissatisfaction with how the current board members fail to properly maintain and manage our living space. It's become clear that a change is needed, a need that can no longer be ignored.

According to the Condominium Property Act of Alberta, owners have a right to request a special meeting, with the purpose of addressing or rectifying any issues facing the community (Alberta Condominium Property Act, Section 30.1). We are well within our rights to call such a meeting, with the goal of electing new board members who can manage the condo effectively and ethically.

This is a call to action for both residents and all concerned parties. It is time to take initiative and set a motion for a special meeting. By doing so, we can take the steps necessary to remove the current condo board members and elect those who have the community's best interests at heart.
