On July 9, 2016 Segovia bullfighter Víctor Barrio, 29, suffered a mortal blow during his bull-fighting performance in front of a live audience.  While this event is tragic for the bull fighter and his family, it brings to light the inhumane and antiquated nature of this so-called "sport".

According to bull-fighting tradition the mother of "Lorenzo the Bull" will now be sent to the slaughterhouse.  There have also been reports that "Lorenzo the Bull" himself will be put to death.  This highlights human egotism at its extreme where even when we bear the consequences of a cruel game we participate in, we are unable to accept defeat with dignity and fairness.

We, the animal lovers, demand with this petition that 'Lorenzo the Bull' and his mother be rescued from the cruel and inhumane faith bestowed upon them and be sent to an animal sanctuary where they can enjoy the rest of their lives in peace.
