The Issue

About Us

We are a group of Lebanese-Americans who grew up in Lebanon on different sides of the conflicts during the civil war. We have since moved away, built our lives in our adoptive country, and contributed to our communities here. But we haven’t forgotten our native homeland, and we have grown to fully appreciate its uniqueness in the world. We have come together today to give back as best we can.

Our vision is for a sovereign Lebanon, in peace with its surroundings, open to and in harmony with the world at large but subservient to no foreign power. A nation of plurality, equality and co-existence, where every Lebanese lives in dignity and prosperity, united under one Lebanese flag on all 10,452 sq. km.

We hope that all of you—Lebanese in the homeland, diaspora Lebanese around the world, and friends of Lebanon everywhere—will join us in making this vision come true.

Our Petition: Sovereignty, Justice, and Peace for Lebanon

Lebanon is once again caught in a regional conflict with devastating consequences. Over 4,230 killed, over 12,175 injured, over 1.2 million internally displaced, over 20 hospitals and 90,000 housing units destroyed with widespread devastation across the country, particularly in the South and in parts of Beirut. More than 150 Lebanese villages along the border have been wiped out and more than 60 are under Israeli occupation. Even World Heritage archaeological sites have not been spared from aggression.

We appreciate the current US administration's heightened interest in Lebanon. We see an unprecedented opportunity for a permanent end to conflicts that speaks to the aspirations of the majority of the Lebanese: A peace that respects Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity and brings its people justice. We must not let that opportunity go to waste. To this end, we affirm the following inviolable principles:

  1. The United States must be an impartial broker during any negotiations between Israel and Lebanon.
  2. Lebanon's sovereignty is non-negotiable:
    1. We reject Israeli occupation of Lebanese territory under any and all pretexts. We demand that Israel withdraw from Lebanon and halt its violations of Lebanese sovereignty over air, land, maritime and cyber domains.
    2. We reject Iranian interference in Lebanon and its use of Lebanese territory and resources as fodder for its proxy wars. We demand that Iran halt its violations of Lebanese sovereignty and its interference in Lebanese internal affairs, including its arming of Hezbollah.
    3. We reject all calls for any form of Syrian interference in Lebanon.
    4. We insist that the Lebanese state must hold all decisions of war and peace on behalf of Lebanon. We insist that all weapons on Lebanese territory must be in the hands of the state. We demand that the Lebanese Armed Forces take immediate and unconditional control of all 10,452 sq. km. of Lebanese territory and all weapons on Lebanese territory. We demand that Hezbollah disarm and abide by Lebanese laws.
    5. We reject the establishment of security zones, buffer zones, managed economic zones, or any other such zones by any state or non-state actors. We affirm the right of all the people of Lebanon to live peacefully across all their land within Lebanon’s internationally recognized borders.
  3. There can be no peace without justice:
    1. We demand a transparent international investigation to assign responsibility for the wanton destruction of Lebanon's civilian property and infrastructure and the senseless killing of its civilian population, including first responders and journalists.
    2. We demand that Israel and Iran pay reparations commensurate with the harm they have inflicted on Lebanon and its people.
  4. Lebanon is a nation for all its people:
    1. We urge all Lebanese to unite for the greater good, to be tolerant of the diverse religious beliefs and political viewpoints, to engage in continuous dialogue to shape their nation, and to rally behind the Lebanese Armed Forces, which remains the only military institution of and for all the Lebanese.
    2. We commend the coming together of Lebanese across all religious sects and genders to launch a Call to Save Lebanon (June 22, 2026), which we support.
  5. We are grateful to all friendly nations for their continued support of Lebanon, its state institutions, and its armed forces, while re-emphasizing that the people of Lebanon hold the sole right of determination of Lebanon’s future.
