For so long has the Southern Illinois University System ignored our pushes to address the immigration issues plaguing our communities. Although they have allowed students to protest on campus, students feel they still aren't heard well enough to go the lengths of protesting to the Carbondale Council. 

It is important that we are to uphold accountability to the Southern Illinois University System for speaking out against the hate & fear that the Trump Administration is instilling not only to adults, but to the children of immigrants. Children that are going to school to have a better life for their well-being and most do to give back what their parents have given up to put them to where they are now.

Students of the Southern Illinois University System should know of these issues and continue to push their respective administrations to uphold the fight that the minorities feel at a PWI institution. With the revocation of a 2 international student's visas at Southern Illinois University Carbondale, it is apparent that the administration is more so wanting to keep their hands clean and not fighting for what is right.
