The Issue

We, the below listed residents of Milford Ohio, residing on the streets that informally make up “South Milford”, are formally requesting that the City and Police Department provide a traffic study of the ongoing issues of speeding, reckless driving and lack of traffic enforcement in our neighborhood.  The results of this traffic study will hopefully assist the City in making real changes to our traffic patterns and enforcement such as one-way streets, better signage, speed humps and deterrents.

We believe that our residential neighborhood has one of the largest volumes of drive through traffic within the city limits.   With traffic coming up from Main Street, over Cleveland to SEM & the school and in general “cut-through” traffic that more often that not is speeding to get through the city.

We have asked for help from the City and the Police over the years which have included more signage, more patrolling, one way streets, and dedicated enforcement.  These efforts have always been temporary and without any lasting permanent changes.  With an increase in traffic, our neighborhood streets have continued to stay unsafe for both pedestrians and drivers.

We are requesting there be a formal effort by the City and Police to make permanent, lasting changes that will make our roadways safer that begins with a traffic study.  We believe that by conducting a formal traffic study, we can formulate effective means to control the growing traffic problems in our neighborhood.

Our streets include:

Mound Avenue

Cleveland Avenue / South Milford Road

Laurel Avenue

Gatch Street

Mill Street

Garfield Avenue

Thank you for your time and attention to partnering with our community in the spirit of safety.
