A greedy elderly man has gazumped a hard working couple who wished to buy a lovely old fashioned pub in a small picturesque village on the edge of Dartmoor. The pub is badly needed by the village as it has no community space left and a very sparse bus service. Residents are unable to sell their houses and house prices have plummeted since the pub shut. Our village now has a large majority of elderly people with no way of socialising. The village has a very close knit community and residents who have lived there for years have enjoyed this wonderful pub in the past. They had made it an Asset of Community value but this seemingly has been ignored. The gentleman concerned has bought the pub to leave it empty as he has never liked the pub on the doorstop of his bungalow that he has been building for the past 30 years! He doesn't Live here, he lives in a village with two pubs.
