On July 31, 2021 In the city of West Columbia my 14 yr old son Daeun odom was shot and killed at a friend residence. He was picked up from his home roughly around 3:30am and brought to the home by a teenager he perceived as a friend. The home owner of this home was not present for a total of three days which his negligence played a part in my son’s death. Currently there are no laws in effect that covers or make it a crime for children 12 and older be left unattended. If a law is put into effect it could possibly have made it where it was not a pattern behavior to leave teenagers in the home that many number of days without fear of consequences. I hope to make it a law so this will not affect another child or there family and friends!
