SC pays teachers less than almost any state in the Southeast...the lowest-paying region in the US. The SCEA is committed to fixing that.

The cost of living has gone up 18% over the last decade.  Teacher salaries have scarcely budged.

During the recession, SC allowed districts to pay teachers less than they'd been promised.

No wonder teachers are quitting and retiring faster than they can be replaced.

Many work multiple jobs just to make ends meet. How serious are we about inviting people into the profession if they see teachers waiting tables at night?

In the end, it's our kids who lose out when talented people leave (or never start) teaching.

Now the state has a $1.3 Billion surplus.  It's time to do right by SC teachers!
