For the third time in as many years, our city council is considering legislation that would completely ban smoking in all businesses, bars, private clubs, and most public places. They have fought this battle before and lost. This is just one more attempt for them to reach into your businesses and grab a little more control of something legal that you choose to do. There are already many smokeless venues in South Bend where non smokers can enjoy a night out without worrying about smoke. This is a blatant disregard for the severe economic impact that this will, with no doubt, have on many small businesses. Please sign this petition to let our council know there is a line drawn here that they should not cross and you will not tolerate this action.
