Evening everyone, I thought I might share with you a few ideas I have had for a while now, a few of you who have known or spoken to me previously will already know but for those of you who don't here they are. Barossa Passenger Services: I think what the Barossa needs first up is peak-hour services, for example 2 in the AM and 2 in the PM eg a train from Nuriootpa - Gawler (connecting with the Suburban metro trains plus stopping at Tanunda, Lyndoch etc) and vice versa. This could then be expanded to have a return service around lunchtime that stops all stations from Nuriootpa - Gawler, then run express to Adelaide with a possible stop at Mawson lakes for local bus services etc. Kapunda Passenger service: Using the above as an example, a Kapunda passenger train could be the same as a Barossa service, eg running from Kapunda - Freeling - Gawler then express to Adelaide, or simply terminating at Gawler to connect with the suburban metro trains. Burra/Balaklava: I believe that as a starter, services to Burra would not need to be run everyday rather every 2 or 3 days return plus every weekend, then as the sevice becomes more popular then the service could be increased. Again, this could terminate at Gawler and connect with Adelaide suburban trains, or run from Burra, all stations to Gawler (eg Riverton, Saddleworth, Hamley Bridge, Roseworthy) then express to Adelaide. With Balaklava I believe peak services will work,eg one in the morning, one at lunchtime (return) and one in the evening would work as a starter then again as the service becomes more popular, then the trains could be more frequent. Like Burra the train could run from Balaklava via Hamley Bridge and Roseworthy then terminate at Gawler, or continue to Adelaide.
