South Australian Regional Rail Alliance

Hi everyone
Sorry about the lack of activity for the last month or so, I have been very busy with work commitments.
At the present there isn't a major update as such, however I have started receiving signed paper petitions in the mail from the various individuals who have taken their own time to contact me and then distribute the petitions in their local areas. To those individuals, you deserve a pat on the back for your efforts and I would like to thank you.
On the weeked I paid a visit to Freeling and Kapunda, two of my target areas. Me being me I left my paper petitions at home (D'oh!) however have plans to go back there again in the coming weeks.
Out of interest, Freeling Railway Station was demolished in 2009 (approx) at a cost of $22,500 - this is half of what it was going to cost to restore the building (approx $53,000 I believe), which wasn't in bad condition (it was being used by the RSL at the time) however the Council, bless their souls, thought it was a better idea to demolish the station. The Goods Shed however remains and has been restored - it is on Local Heritage Listed.
Kapunda on the other hand has a very grand and unique railway station. Unlike most of the other Station buildings which were more of a Victorian design (some were even designed to American designs and buildings), Kapunda has a very European look and feel about it. The Station itself it currently privately owned as a Bed and Breakfast and apparently it is one of the best places to stay in town. The Kapunda Goods Shed appears to be on it's last legs, it's not in very good condition and it is of my belief that it is flagged to be demolished in the next year or so - or less.
Anyway, thanks everyone for your time and support, keep up the good work, and remember to keep sharing on Facebook or Emails, or feel free to email me at heardy_101@hotmail.com.au if you would like some paper petitions to distribute in your area(s).
Kind Regards
