Quick summary of some points below:

-NPA/Department of Justice/DOH/HPCSA have had a meeting early on when the doctors where arrested.

-It has reached the courts and the DOH has no jurisdiction.

-Agreement across the board that there needs to be proper guidelines with regards to the future of Medical Negligence and criminal prosecution.

-Acknowledges recognizes the same grievances all Medical doctors and healthcare workers have in South Africa at the moment.

-Minister Dr Mkhize goes through the need to FOLLOW the inquest act and wait prior to medical negligence and possible criminal case review.

-The NPA? Concedes that there needs to be a review of this specific case. Check the “Loopholes”? The criteria?

-Nothing the DOH can do as it is in the courts hands now and they have no jurisdiction.

- Hpcsa to give feedback to NPA, whilst the case continues?
