This Govt needs challenging...
They must push developers to build what's already approved on brownfield sites and support reinstatement/conversions of empty properties, NOT destroying our countryside. Greybelt is a fabrication of this Govt and should be stopped.
There shouldn't be any more planning applications approved until those already agreed are built.
There's absolutely no reason for new applications to be submitted and this distruction of our greenspaces really must stop.
This affects the whole of the country. It could affect a space near you next...
Wildlife is being displaced, farmers are losing their livelihoods and peoples wellbeing is negatively impacted.
There are already 1.4 million homes approved so why are they asking councils to provide more sites?!
And over 1 million empty properties, why? Who is benefitting from this?
We need councils and residents to stand up to developers, and Govt, and demanded those on brownfield sites are built before even considering other sites let alone greenbelt/countryside.
The displacement of wildlife from the greenspaces is a horrible consequence of building on greenbelt.
🦊 foxes wandering the streets,
🦝🦔 badgers and other wildlife are coming further into towns and cities because their habitats are being destroyed.
🦋 🐝 Butterflies and our ever decreasing Bee population need us to keep them alive
This distruction is all so unnecessary. Please add your voice...
We the undersigned need the Govt to STOP DEVELOPERS LAND GRAB AND GET THEM TO BUILD ON LAND ALREADY APPROVED BEFORE ANY MORE SITES ARE PUT FORWARD.
Pass a law to make it compulsory for developers to complete those sites/conversions already approved or face hefty fines.
No more sites should be approved until 90% of the current 1.4 million approvals have been built. 90% in every area.
EDIT: today, 3rd August 2026, Taylor Wimpy have announced they have cut back on future builds because existing builds are not selling. So why..
